Momentum SOLD! - February 2007
Max and Jenny describe their sad decision to sell Momentum. The upside for the rest of us is that they have a mooring in Bunker Bay they're happy to share!
Hi there –sadly this will be our last Momentum Update as we have had to suspend our sailing adventures for the time being and our beloved Momentum has just been sold to a young couple who are long time sailors and have a 1 year old baby. They plan to make Momentum their home do a lot of extended cruising which is great. It was a very difficult decision to make, but other things in our lives have overtaken us for the moment and Momentum would have spent most of her time over the next year or so stuck on a mooring so was best to sell her to someone who can give her the love and attention she needs.
We are supposed to be cruising round Tasmania just now but hopefully we will be able to do that at some time in the future . For now we have to concentrate on selling our house here in Perth and designing and building our house down south. We are paying a small fortune in land tax and council rates so that has become the priority. We are planning to do all the designing and building ourselves – lots of natural rock and chunky timbers. That’s our next adventure and it should keep us out of mischief for about the next two years. Like our sailing adventures no doubt there will be some great times as well as some bl--dy awful ones.
Had thought of writing a book called “Oh Shit” Moments. Max and I have certainly had a few of our own (you know you are up to your neck in it when you both say it together) and most of our yachting friends have their own stories to tell.
We have a mooring down at Bunker Bay so we will be encouraging those of you who are yachties to come and visit us. Free use of our mooring for a few days in return for taking us for a sail. Time permitting we also hope to join some fellow yachties and hire a yacht for a few weeks in the Med or the Caribean so hopefully we will not lose our new found sailing skills.
Hope you and yours are all happy and healthy whatever you are doing. Keep in touch.
