Pampero in Darwin
Pampero takes a rest while her crew sample the delights of a Friday Night at the infamous Darwin Sailing Club at Fanny Bay
Well done to Eloise. I guess it will be our turn soon. We arrived here in Darwin at about 0400 on Thursday. The Indo Rally departs at 1100 hrs on July 26th. There are 117 starters... it's bigger than Ben Hur
I reckon there's approx 60 yachts here now and already the bay is getting crowded. No chance of a marina berth anywhere.
Currently at anchor in Fannie Bay off the Sailing Club, but a long way out due to big tides at present. From the shore it looks like Pampero is somewhere on the horizon. We're nursing headaches from a big Friday night at The Club after the many sailing miles since the last (real) civilisation of Cairns. All good fun. The 4 POB from Cockatoo II were also there.
Will you please update our position on FSC cruising vessel Google Earth thingy. 12 25.533S / 130 49.018E
Best regards,
Gus and Gabby Lockhart
