Mendana does New Caledonia
Peter writes from Noumea, describing future plans
We're in Noumea, New Caledonia at the moment. Later today we're off to the 'Isle of Pines'.
Latitude 22° 17S
Longitude 166° 26E
We've returned to the islands after spending the cyclone months around New Zealand's North Island. We plan to concentrate on New Caledonia this season, then move on to the northern islands of Vanuatu (which we didn't manage to see last year) when our 3 month visas expire. From there we will either head straight back to Australia with the Bundaberg 'Port to Port' rally, or continue north to the Solomons Is. before making landfall in Australia at Cooktown or Cairns. From there we haven't decided yet - perhaps the 'Darwin to Kupang' rally in July 2009, or maybe Louisades and Solomons if we don't make it this year.
Please pass on our best to all at the FSC.
