Briefing
Notes are prepared by the Fremantle
Sailing Club Cruising Section to provide information for those taking part in
this cruise. While every care is taken to avoid errors, no warranties as to the
accuracy of the data or advice contained herein are intended or implied.
OWNER AND SKIPPER'S RESPONSIBILITY
The
safety and navigation of each vessel is the sole and inescapable responsibility
of the owner or skipper, who must do their best to see that the vessel is fully
sound, thoroughly seaworthy and they must ensure that all safety equipment is
properly maintained and stowed and that the crew know where it is kept and how
it is to be used.
It
is the sole responsibility of the skipper to ensure that the vessel is
appropriately crewed for the journey being undertaken.
It
is the sole responsibility of the skipper whether to put to sea or continue
sailing.
The
skipper shall comply with the "International Regulations for Preventing
Collision at Sea 1983" as amended from time to time.
