Welcome to the FSC Cruising Section

Find out what's new in Cruising at Fremantle Sailing Club. Are you a yachtie interested in sailing the West Australian coastline? We aim to provide resources to help you explore the beautiful waters of Western Australia. We also document the exploits of our members and friends who are sailing the globe.

Photo Albums

Did you enjoy the slide show at this year's AGM?  You may be interested to know that we ran it entirely from the web.  All the photos are freely available to anyone who's interested.  You can see the photos and/or download any of interest from the FSC Cruising Section Google Photo Album, just click here.  Don't forget, we have lots of photos on this website too, to see them, simply click on the "Gallery" tab near the top of this page.

Where are our Cruisers?

The past couple of months, as usually happens at this time each year, has seen a number of our members leave Fremantle to sail the globe.  It's a thing we cruisers do.  Now, thanks to modern technology, and a huge amount of effort and enthusiasm by Mark Ainscough, you can keep up to date with where they all are... and maybe wonder why you aren't out there with them!

"Green Guide" Safety Recommendations and Checklist now available for download

Ever looked at the racing world's "Blue Book" and wished there was a version for Cruising? Well wish no more, it's here! We are indebted to Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club for the original version, based on ISAF Special Regulations. Our Cruising Section Safety Officer, Kim Klaka has reviewed the RPAYC document and "West Australianised" it and you can now download it here. There are also two checklists to go with it, a Short Coastal Safety Checklist and a Long Coastal Safety Checklist. If you have any suggestions on improving either document, don't hesitate to contact Kim via this website.

While you're thinking safety, why not browse through the rest of the Safety section of our website. There's a wealth of practical information there and it's growing all the time.

How to find stuff...

Have you heard about something on this website, but are not sure where to find it? You can search the whole site by typing into the "Search" Box, up there in the top right hand corner. Try typing the first few letters of something and then pause and watch what happens (not sure what to type? Well, which boat was "Marnie" on at Quindalup last year?).
